The rear view mirror has fallen off for the second time, since I owned this truck.

I used the most commonly used repair kit for putting it back on.

I followed all the instructions carefully.

I have had mirrors fall off on other vehicles in the past. And in my experience, every one of them falls off again, later, no matter how carefully you follow the instructions.

Is there some uber secret, uber successful repair kit for this, guaranteed to never fail again?

I had the same issue back in the early 90's. I gave up on the windshield mounted mirror and just learned to use the side mirrors. It would be interesting to know if there's something that works for a long time.

I have a regular cab. And no canopy. So I have nowhere else to put stuff to keep it dry and safe from convenience theft, other than in the seat.

So, I often have so much stuff in the seat that I can't see the passenger side mirror.

I do need to get this figured out.

Been wondering if I should find a mirror from some other vehicle that gets screwed to the roof somehow.

Don't want to put any holes all the way through the roof, though.

Yeah, mine was fine too. Adjustable, with no problem. Etc.

Until after several months, it just fell off again.

Mine fell off the day after I put it on. I used the kit and followed all the instructions, maybe I got a bad kit. Anyhow, I never put it back up. I have two rear view mirrors, but they are both under my bench seat:joker:

I've had that problem with one car only, the '87 Buick which was my wife's. I use whatever the parts store has, can't remember. I allow the little button a couple days to dry before attaching the mirror. It usually stays on for a year or so, or until I bump it with my head. The bond does seem awfully fragile. It doesn't take much of a bump to knock it off.

There's a lot of area in the roof that's double walled. Similar to the back wall of the cab. You may have to pull down the headliner some in order to see where it is. Don't use long screws.

Just wondering: did you use the Loctite rearview mirror kit or some other brand?
