Disclaimer: Have painted another work truck and a few bikes but don't claim to be a pro by any stretch of the imagination. For this project my hope is to stop the cancer from spreading and have the bed looking better. Aside from some surface rust here and there on the truck, the rear fenders are the worst of it. This particular bed made for an easy project with the trim ring and lines being in a good spot.

Materials: Two panels from LMC Truck for $60 shipped, Rust-Oleum Truck Bed Liner and Rust Reformer $15 and some #10 Sheet Metal Screws $ 0.
Labor: About 4 Hours.

Used one of the lines as a guide to cut rings out of the panels using a DeWalt Electric Shear.

Cut the cancer out and tried to seal the rest with Rust Reformer and a coat of Bed Liner.

Sprayed rings (factory primed) with one coat of Bed Liner then attached to bed with #10 screws. Sprayed another coat after installed so the screws could be blacked out as well.

As you can see in the above pic the metal on the ring comes up a little short of the molding so the paint line is extended to help blend it in.

How come you did not make the splice under the chrome trim? That would have hidden all of it except the short areas at the bottom.

That's pretty slick for a quickie repair. Looks decent and hopefully will buy you some more time.
