Just a heads up regarding the brake shoes and e-brake. A while back there was some discussion about the parking brake not engaging correctly with some of the lower quality brake shoes. I went with Motorcraft shoes based on what others had said, but I encountered the same problem right away with the e-brake not engaging.

That little lever (circled in green) that was supposed to move the shoes was slipping right over the shoes, even brand new ones. I think someone had suggested welding material to the top of the web, but what I ended up doing instead was taking that lever off and heating it up with a mapp torch really hot, and then I was able to bend that tab down enough so that it would actually engage the shoes.
