Rear 4 ways come on with turn signals

Anyone ever had their rear 4 ways come on when hitting the left or right turn signals? My 88 with tilt wheel just started this. Never seen this happen before.

There are no "rear 4 ways". When the emergency flasher or 4 ways are activated, they use the same wiring and the same bulbs as the turn signals.

I think what you are saying is when you activate the left or right turn, both are blinking correct? The first place to look is any trailer wiring back there. Make sure it's not shorting any wires together, sounds like the left and right brake/turn wires are touching each other somewhere.

I’ll look into the trailer wiring. I appreciate the response. Yes both rear lights flash.

Does it do the same thing with the tail lights on or not?

Yes no matter lights are on or off. I stoped for a couple days then started back. Now also the turn signal will stop flashing when applying the brake.

Start looking at wiring, or replace the turn signal switch.

check for shorts.. but also look at the blubs.. I had one that the filament came apart an shorted inside the blub blinkers problems brake lights turned on blinkers etc.
