1/2 hour later, pressure in the radiator drops from 19 to 15.
maybe im just seeing some condensation in the crank case?
no milkshaking.
if it was a head gasket, wouldnt i see more of a drop in pressure, especially when warm?
perhaps its just head bolt stretch?

Can you remove the FSS wire and give us a cranking sound? To me it sounds like maybe a cylinder has some coolant in it or something is wrong with the starter. A low battery sound will have a continuous slow labored cranking sound. Your starts slow and then speeds up cranking as if its cleared a cylinder.

I will when I get home. We're at the Drs right now for our last ultrasound
I have a remote starter button, I'll just leave the key off, may have to warm it up again tho.

no apologies.
i thank you for helping me track it down.
ive learned along time ago that you never depend on just 1 vehicle.
as this is my daily driver, ill just have to drive something else until i fix it.

i already have another set of heads in the shop, if they dont pressure test& mag good, ill just do an engine swap next weekend.

luckily, my 71 is ready to daily drive with the swap of a battery.
and the 01 and the 98 are solid.

i do have another 7.3 in the 94 and one in the 89 SC i just bought.
the 94 just has the engine sitting in it, so ill more than likely slap that engine in until
i can fix the leaker.

this is where the fun begins!

or i may go the ghetto route and slap some block sealer in it.
and wont use it for out of town driving until i fix the issue.

half of me wants to call up promar right now.
but since im having 2 kids in 16 days, ill keep the cash in the bank, and buy parts to repair this engine.
ill call promar in February after i get my taxes back! i get to claim 2 dependents this year ;Sweet

not down about it, just gotta work up a plan.

engine swaps are simple :D

my truck always starts like that, i thought it was normal, now u have me worried.

best advice i can give you is to test your coolant system. and keep an eye on your oil.
im not really surprised i blew a gasket, but the timing does suck.

You didn't do anything to that engine when you did the truck right? Too much boost?

i did nothing to the engine but replace the injection system.
its a factory turbo engine, so maybe it was just time for head gaskets.
i will be doing the whole bag of tricks on it.
if and when my heads check out.
thats pretty much the fork in the road before i make a decision.
new head gaskets on the way tho.

only issue is a hard start,
moisture in coolant,
and a loss of coolant.

pressure does leak down as previously stated.

I did notice a slight white haze at idle.
anything above idle is unspent fuel.
