Figured I would give this a shot. I have always wanted and needed a large truck for towing. So two years ago I picked up this 1993 4x4 F-350 crew cab 7.3L N/A with E4OD transmission. She has 255,000+ and runs pretty good.

We just got done putting a Facet electric lift pump on it, deleting the fuel heater in the fuel filter & fixing air intrusion problems in the fuel system. Saving my dollars right now for rebuilt injectors and a rebuilt injection pump as the injection pump leaks pretty bad.

My wife Melissa and I have dreamed of having a truck like this since her dad, Jim, bought his 1997 f250 extended cab new off the lot. She sometimes drove his truck when she was in college. We fell in love with it, but knew Jim wouldn’t part with it. Occasionly we would get to use it. Although Melissa wanted the long wheel based crew cab. I couldn’t afford to buy her dad’s nor would he let it go so we started searching for our own.

(Our big ‘93 crew cab with Jim’s ‘97 PowerStroke F-250 he bought new. I have wanted his truck for so nany years and now we have one of own!)

My friend Jeremy talked me into buying an IDI instead of the PowerStroke because it was cheaper to work on and easier (more mechanical and less electronics!) He helped us find our crew cab in Raymond Washington. I am the second owner and have all the records for it since it was new.

My name is Chris. My wife Melissa and I have been married 18 years but have been friends for almost 30 years met in the 7th grade. Our son Carston just turned 12 and enjoys helping in the shop. We work on pre 1916 automobiles (have 3, a 1907 Holsman Autobuggy, 1909 Brush runabout and 1913 White touring car. They are part of the family, my grandpa bought them 60+ years ago) and he and I enjoy hot rodding Model T Fords (1917 T speedster, 1919 T touring, and Carston’s pickup a 1925 built from leftover parts.)

It’s long post but it’s fun to introduce myself to the group. I am going to have some questions as I delve further into our truck and do repairs and upgrades. I appreciate the help in the future.

    Thanks ahead of time.

    Chris

Nice trucks, and welcome to the forum.

I looked closely at the antique cars, half expecting to see an IDI :D

The AN fittings and hose look nice for your fuel supply lines, but must have cost as much as the Facet pump! Did you have them already, or just wanted it to work and look good?

Jim uses lots of AN fittings on his projects. So he had a lot of leftovers lying around the shop. I didn’t expect to use them on my truck but when he offered there no telling him no so that is what we got. Fuel lines and the way we mounted the pump turned out real sanitary and I am very pleased with how it turned out. Was a fun project to do with Jim. Thanks for the warm welcome, having fun with this truck.

I like your cars/hobby. I used to want to work on cars like these myself, but the money isn't there for me. Plus I got distracted by three wheelers. With talent like yours, you should have no problems working on your IDI. Welcome!
