I have built a 6.9 powered 1983 f150 never really been under the hood of a running idi truck nore ever have had a diesel before. It's a automatice and got it running in very little time was from the way I see a very easy swap. I looked at a lot of trucks at the junk yard had a engine and trans on the floor in garage, tape measure and the factory mounts off a junk yard truck make this very easy, also need core support, radiatior and the shift link to clear the exhuast manifold. Used a bulk head fitting to put a return line in my tank. Thanks to danville auto parts and coultas recycling I was able to bolt all this together in a couple weeks with some research, and all in me spare time. I am really wondering what the thingy is on the right fender near the glow plug relay with wires and a vacuum line going to it??? And does anybody have a extra VRV only part I don't have andv I have had to shift fom first to second manually and letting of the gas or it slips. But what does the thing on fender do I dont have it and everything works but don't have a vrv so maybe it's a pressure regulator of some sort idk, anybody? Truck weight of 4200 lb with a 420cid engine and gets better mileage tha the 302 or 300 I had had in the truck. Thanks everybody love this forum!!
