So a little more. I had the damn lines backward. It doesn't make any difference. One line is too short.

Based on this picture it's 16-18" short.

And based on this line I believe it's the one from the RABS back. I laid the steel line that fit roughly in place and it would meet the other line.

Anyway, I've got a call and email into them and I'll call them again first thing and I'll talk to someone higher up the food chain than I have been. This is the absolute last chance.

Steering box painted.

Bits cleaned and run through the black oxide bath. These came out beautiful. I've about got that dialed in.

Pitman arm installed. Shaft installed. Cooler test fit.

I need to get out my torque multiplier to run the pitman down to 190-230 ft lbs. I took it to 150. That's all my clicker will do on its own.

I'd like to put a filter in but I'm not sure where yet. I know we debated the merits of putting it in the return line from the hydroboost but as a practical matter, that may be the easiest place to put it. If you put it in the rubber line returning to the bottom of the pump, you will dump all the fluid out of it to change the filter. I'm not sure it will even fit there but I'm going to order one and play around with it and figure it out.

Daily update on the inline tube brake line saga. Called this morning. Was promised they would call me back today... Nada. I was promised parts by the weekend. I'm less than optimistic.

Meanwhile, flu bug has me firmly in its grip. The sum total of my day today after calling it an early day at the office, was raking some gravel out of the yard deposited by the snow blower, put the new bigger battery in the helpers tractor, and tossed the drag link on. Short of torque and cotter pins, I'm a steering wheel from having steering.

If I'm not absolutely miserable tomorrow, I'll have a go at the front shock situation. I think if I loosen the u-bolts it will sort itself. I suspect it's that the ubolts are tightened unevenly. Hope it's that simple.

Build is looking great. I've been silently keeping up with it recently. I really like the PS tubing cooler that follows the contour of the crossmember.

What is the flat paint you using on your chassis parts? Sorry if you've already stated this.

Just a thought on the filter setup. Would it be feasible to put shutoff valves on each side of the filter so you would not lose all of your fluid when changing filter?

The rattle can I'm using is tractor supply matte black. I painted the frame with tractor supply enamel with hardener. You'll notice it's a little shinier. That's the hardener. It fades pretty easy but the price is right and on the undercarriage who cares. The frame sat out over last winter and aside from a little fading it's in good shape.

I've thought about it. I thought about a spin on but what I don't want to do is add a bunch of line and restriction. I had wanted to run it through the radiator and have been told by folks that tried that and starvation was a problem. So I think while not optimal, I'll probably put it in the return from the hydroboost. We use passive filtering for coolant. There are passive filters for engine oil. Even if it only dumps fluid when you brake, that's fairly often.

As for the tube cooler it's ford factory. I picked it up as surplus from uhaul. I may swap it out for a finned unit up the road but I'll stick with it for now.
