Well, time to seriously post my old man's truck up for sale. White truck needs an engine build so need some cash for that and other things.
Truck is currently located in Beaverton, OR
Story behind this old bird is it started its life off as a 460 gasser, and I converted it to diesel myself. Tanks, fuel lines, ect. It has also been retitled to be emissions exempt. All lights and gauges work, sometimes the oil pressure gauge wigs out, so we installed a pillar gauge cluster with water temp, oil pressure and battery voltage. Has a zf5-42 in er and 3:55 geared axles, limited slip rear.
Engine is of unknown miles, I think it had 130k on it when we installed it. Engine is a 1988 7.3, it used to have a first gen banks on it, but my dad didn't want to go turbo, so its now a stock runner.
Supposedly the pump and injectors were replaced at 100k, but I have no proof other than when we bought the engine he showed us a video of him putting them in.
When I had the engine out I fully scrubbed it down, painted it and resealed the pan, valve covers, exhaust manifold, and valley pan. Got a new water pump and damper at the same time. Had both drivelines fully rebuilt at the time of the engine replacement. Also a 3 core aluminum champion radiator.
I rebuilt the Dana 60 in it maybe 10 years ago back when it was still a gasser. New king pins, bushings, all nrew bearings, pinion seal, the whole nine yards. Rotors and pads were done at that time. We also just installed a brand new class 4 hitch on it.
Practically new brakes all the way around, new leaf spring bushings were put in around the time the axle was rebuilt.
A few years ago my dad replaced the weather stripping around the windows and the drivers door.
Mechanically, she rock solid. Occasionally the wipers don't work on intermittent, I put a new switch and intermittent module in it, but it only kind of fixed it. Occasionally the drivers window doesn't roll down, haven't had time to diag if its a motor or switch yet.
Now for the bad...
She a lil dinged up. Used to be an apple tree farm truck, and they used er and abused er haaaarrrrd. Frame is straight, all panels line up, but there's small dents here and there, and paint peeling, someone did a three stage paint on part of it, and the clear coat is peeling and its down to metal in certain areas. Luckily we don't salt the roads so there's no pin holes or cancer rust anywhere.
Probably start at $8,000, see what happens. Not in a huge rush to sell er.
