If the sensor looks like the one above, it is a switch. If it looks a lot bigger, and like an oil cup, it's a sender. Ford started out using senders with gauges that actually could show a reading depending on the oil presure. Later, when dealers probably started ******** that idle readings were low, they modified the oil presure gauge by putting in a fixed resistor, and then replacing the sender with a switch that closes any time their is 7 PSI or higher. Newer trucks with the switch, can be modified. Just jump across the resistor on the back of the dash panel, and replace the switch with a sender.
