Oil change intervals

I change mine every 5k and I use Ford's recommended oil and Ford's brand.

How often do you change yours and what do you use?

I use Amsoil. I change it when the Oil Analysis tells me to.

I spin on a new filter at 5000mi change oil at 10000. I use Amsoil and analysis looks great at 10000.

JakeGMCHD how many miles have you let it go between changes and what did your analysis say?

I went 30K on first change. I then went 30K on the second change. Oil is still good at 30K according to analysis. I change the full flow at 15K and the Bypass at 30K with the oil. The first 30K I did analysis every 10K. Now I do oil analysis every 15K.

Good ol' Shell Rotella 15w-40 every 7500 miles. Fleetguard filters from Geno's Garage...

Shell Rotella 15w30 every 7000, just wish it did not smell everytime you change it. Do all the oils smell like this or is it just me?

I personally have NEVER changed my own oil in my truck. When I bought my truck I bought a service contract for a lifetime oil change. They change it every 3K. The dealer found out how much it really cost them so about a month after I bought it they stopped offering the lifetime oil change.BTW the contract was only 250.00 one time fee and they even wash it and vaccum it.

Rotella does give off a smell for the first few hundred miles after an oil change. Not sure on the other brands tho. Solved that problem along with the oil slobber on the front of the engine by extending the breather hose and relocating the puke bottle to under the rear of the cab.

I'm on the same program as NB. Neither of us are using the bypass system, yet.

Fleetguard filters and either Delo 400 or Delvac 15w-40 every 5,000 miles. Fuel filter every other oil change.

Just curious russ, why do you change the oil filter every other oil change? Filters are cheap IMHO. I buy my gm filters for less then $7us from GM. To me the biggest part of the expense is by far the oil. Especially if using Delvac. I guess I am just thinking what is another $10 when your spending 50-100 on oil.

Oil every 3000mi , fuel filter every 6000mi, I love wasting money.
