I think you should come in that fancy get up you're wearing in your avatar.

I'm gonna make this one one way or another, planning on probably a 3 or 4 day stay. Right now it'll probably just be myself and my brother, but if my dad feels up to it the whole gang might be coming. I'm really hoping to get my brown truck into dependable driver condition by then.
I'm really tempted to rent a camper when we get up there, but plan B would be the good ol tent. HAHA.
I'm really looking forward to the drag races, WOO HOOO! Can't wait to wax some of your butts with the brown truck. Haha.
I'm assuming I need to call the camp ground to really get a good idea of what's available.

Man, If by some stroke of pure cosmic intervention I could go that would be awesome.

I would...
a) have to get the ZF5 swap done and the front end rebuilt
b) convince the wife to drag the pop-up trailer across the US in my single cab oilburner.
c) take some time off work

Both A and C are pretty easy, it's B I am worried about... :sly

Justin, B is going to be the hardest part, but once she gets there, she'll have a ball. All the wifes and GF's have a big hoot together poking fun at us and enjoying some wine and girly drinks. Plus, we always have stuff they can enjoy too.

Hope you can make it! Convoy with Gary (icanfixall) if you can. He's planning on coming again this year.;Sweet Shoot, we'd love it if there were a whole crew of west coast guys rolling across the country together to the Rally.

Its good to see this thread staying active and more people getting the itch to go. Seeing everyone's old idi's in person is gonna be a good time. Hey Sparkandfire, at least you have a trailer!! I reserved my spot and need to somehow find a trailer and make it trip worthy by July. Shoot, my front end needs to be rebuilt too come to think of it. Hope you decide to make it happen and we see ya there.;Sweet

Why is it that people drive their trucks locally all the time, and do regular oil changes, but yet somehow driving for an extended period of time is somehow more risky? It's like an airplane. Taking off and landing is the worse most stressfull part. Cruising is easy on the hardware. Your more apt to have a problem turning corners, using your brakes, and shifting gears all the time just driving around in your neighborhood, then you are to just point it, get the RPM's up to where they need to be and hold them there. It's like when I take the Moose Truck to get it inspected, Jimmy always asks me "Where was the rally last year" I'll tell him "Bowling Green" and he will say "Did you use the brakes?" and I'll say. Yea. I think I used them once on an off ramp. LOL He knows pulling the rear drums is pointless.

Can't speak for anyone else but I've found with That Damn Truck that a local tow is a lot less expensive than an OTR tow.LOL
