Something's not right. A code reader can't read compression so there's no way that cylinder #1` could be out of balance according to the code reader.

Ford used the same code numbers for different meanings on different systems. You need to check the correct code list for the system you are testing. I got used to seeing some code numbers then noticed they didn't always have the same meaning.

The book that comes with the code reader, at least to me is set up in a very confusing way. However if I take my time with it it's pretty straightforward even though you have to refer back two different places in the book. Are you using the Haynes manual or the manual that came with the code reader?

Wondered how long that wold take. :D

Yes, I got the codes from the book, too.

It's how I identified the correct ones, of all that you find on the web.

By the way.

In the book, ours is called an EEC-IV system.

And there IS no code "10" in the eec-iv system.

Yet the reader spit that code out first.

And this reader spits out the whole number. Not a one then a zero, or whatever.

But just numbers. Nothing like text that says VSS sensor, or anything like that.

I just bought one of these code readers, man im struggling with it, I had to have this kid that's living temporarily in my yard in his van help me get sorted but for the PSD it seems needed. I have the "PIDS" loaded mostly interested in ICP readings as I have a lope, changed out my EBPS thought it would solve it. but then noticed that the ICP has RTV on connector waiting for the ICP and pigtail to swap it out. Im still learning this new fangled thang, I so love my IDI!
