Say what?!?!
The PO had a sloppy scabbed together connection at the passenger side positive terminal.. I cleaned it up and got it together as best I could. Here's what I have:
Anyway... The truck has been sitting in the garage, while I've been changing a couple of wheels/tires and the wiper motor. I've also had it on a battery charger. The PO let the batteries sit for six months, without much of a charge in them. They are less than 2 years old.
I tried starting it this evening, without much luck. The starter doesn't spin the motor, as fast as my 93 IDI's does... I'm wondering if it's either the batteries, or the starter, or a combination.. I plugged the block heater in for two hours, but still nothing.
I'm going to leave the block heater plugged in tonight, as well as the battery charger. I'm hoping to take the truck to work, so I can get the starting/charging system checked tomorrow. There's a local place, that will do it for free..
Anything else I should look into?
P.S. I know the GP system is much different than the IDI's. When glowing, I have much less cranking power. That leads me to believe, that at least some of the GP's are working, if not all of them... If I wait until the GPR clicks off, my cranking speed is much more...
