is there such a thing as too many trucks??

next week ill be pulling the engine out of the 108k wonder i purchased a few months back.

i cant seem to make a decision on what to do with this truck.
its great for towing things around the yard, but the initial intent was to build my M37 with the parts.

now the dilemma is...

do i put another engine back into it and keep it a runner, or do i strip it, and spend a few days mounting the suspension on the M-37 and install the engine and trans??

i dont have a dry spot to store either one, but if i get on it, i can eliminate another truck in the yard, and create more space....

and yet another project under way.....

im trying really really hard to get my 6 door done!!!!!! but things keep getting in the way!

For me it started with every man should have at least ONE car, truck and motorcycle...then added car hauler to that.

Then it morphed into a man can never have TOO MANY cars, trucks, motorcycles etc...

Too make it worse my son has the same mentality AND still lives at home...at least I can charge him rent.

I would try and finish the 6 door, so that can be on the done list and then start a new project. that's what I try to do just so I don't have a bunch of parts from several trucks all over the place. I think it can be motivating to finish a build and look at the finished project and say, nice I don't have to work on it anymore.

the only problem is that THEY ARE NEVER DONE!!!!
ive been "building" cars since i was 14, and it is a never ending battle.
theres always something more you want to do to them.

now that 40 is a few months away, i look over all of my projects every day and think to myself
"damn, one day!"
the problem is that "one day" never seems to come.

i got my main truck, the psd. my van, my dads ole 71, and my boat that run and drive with minimal amount of work
yet they all have there own check off list that needs to be done.

my issue, which was the same with the bronco, is that here is 2 vehicles, that will be apart.
i can either spend a weekend doing an engine swap, or spend a weekend cobbeling up 2 trucks into 1, and be that much closer to an end goal.

sometimes this addiction is maddening!

Do what I do....make a do list of required bare minimums to x off a project...


Pick one and do it. Repair daily driver if issue arrises. Once said project is at stage or level of acceptable completion...

Move on to next project...make NEW MORE BETTER list for last project and you can come back to it later..

Again repairing dd as required...

Slowly they get biilt in stages with acceptable levels of growth.

List in head or paper..
Pqper harder to cheat....oh ya just one mo ting....in head...paper not so strike out what u do as u do..when done..move on

Sounds like you loose interest and move on to new "projects" so nothing is ever done. Its a sickness that can be helped with counseling... Screw it all.. Do what makes you happy. At 40 you are way more than half way thru your life so enjoy whats left. May sound bleak but its how I see it from this side of the screen. Blunt but honest is how I roll these days. BTW I will be 64 around Christmas this year and I see what is ahead of me . My family gene pool needed some chlorine added long ago. I figure maybe 10 more years at the most but am not concerned bout it. Build what you want and no need to "feel" anything is ever finished. Not everyone likes a finished truck or car or house.

Finish the primary family hauler (6 door or bronkosaurus?) then the next one' then the first toy.
And as allways the paying monie makers
With this as a primary list of "I need work time" stuff on my plate...
Shovelhead, rockcrawler(dd),the idi and fifthwheel.
They get ranked in that order (till playtime say's otherwise) then there is the boat, quadcab ute, mommas vert vw,the stable of dirtbikes, dads jeep, and allways the property.
All this without kids in the house!
Whatever you do to keep afloat is primo!
