I bought this f superduty (450) for parts, but when I get to looking at it. Well I just cant without trying to fix it.
the problem is little throttle slow buildup to 2000 rpm max. I got it with no history but it looks like been sitting for a while, months? any thoughts would help.
There is not any strainer or filter in rear fuel tank. it was easy to get off, no bed .
just looking for advice Thank you.

rough idle like it's running on 4 cylinders?

floored does it only get to 2000 rpms?

sounds like a bad UVCH to me.

I have had a icp sensor act goofy like that. Can try unplugging it.
Uvch are a good start.

the answer to your questions are yes yes and yes. Checking continuity looks like 1 cylinder and 1 glow plug. tomorrow maybe I can pull the driver side and see what is in that side. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=6338277&jsn=3 think I will replace it with this one

That'll do it.
Please don't use offbrand. Stick with motorcraft for the uvch.
Might as well do both sides while you're at it....

agree....don't go cheap on any sensors or electrical parts on a 7.3

Replacing both UVCH will update them to eliminate the need for the 50 cent mod.

@greenskeeper learn something new every time I open oilburners in therapy it would work but it seems a bit sketchy having a small price of metal held in by some hot brittle plastic

Thanks again for the help!! looks like all cylinders are firing or at least all injectors show oil coming out. runs smoother but still tops out at 2000 rpm. as for the icp sensor i tried unplugging it but no change on the rpm.
