any ideas on why neither turn signal lights come on? If not it's going to be fun tracing through a wiring diagram. also, my right signal won't click into position, I have to hold it up. any help is appreciated! They both work outside.

whoops... 86 f250, both lamps burned out w 89k miles? what are the odds on that. but you're right, should start there I guess but I doubt that's the issue. I've worked with hundreds of vehicles, I see 2000+ vehicles a week at auctions, never seen a signal light burn out yet. anythings possible. Reminds of Carl in Slingblade when the shop is stumped on a tiller and Carl says "It aint got any gas in it".

The turn signal switch under the wheel in the column has a bad/broken tap causing you to hold it up for right turns. Pull the instrument panel cover and look at the bulbs, their wires and go from there.

Huh. 2000/5=400 a day. 400/6=66/Hr. That's 1 vehicle every minute. Bet ya missed a few. :D

Broken turn signal = pull the steering wheel.

I must be magical, other than my current lincoln that uses LEDs. Every vehicle I've owned has burned one out.
