my truck runs great, no smoke, no issues but I think my timing is retarded. I noticed when cold it ran much better with the advance on. The marks on the ip are about 1/8 in in the advanced position from the mark on block but why I read maybe it's worn and self retarding. As I do have the heatsoak hard start issue so I know it's worn. I jumped the cold advance solenoid and it seems to run a lot better, a lot more power and still sounds good. I'm curious if that's an indication if I need to get it timed and lastly would it be back to keep the cold advance activated until I replace the pump and time it?
