Need help on 7.3 IDI fuel filter please!

Bought a sweet '93 Ford ambulance with 88,000 miles. Drove it 200 miles home & about 50 local & bought fuel, then the fuel filter light came on so I bought a Wix 33617 which I guess is wrong. It's a Ford E-350 cutaway with a Horton body. It screws on like normal but has a bottom cap where I assume is the drain. Anyone know which filter I need? It was changed 3-15-15 written on the filter & written under the hood it says fuel heater changed 3-15-15. It doesn't have a fuel heater does it? That wasabout 8,000 miles ago. Any & all help will be appreciated, Thanks! Eric

That filter will work fine. The fuel heater is the plug on top of the filter head

No but I think its a wix 33217, The parts srore told me wrong 33617 & couldn't figure it out. Thanks!

So it sounds like you are MISSING the bottom cap because someone installed a filter that doesn't use it correct? I think 33417 is the wix one you'll need. I'm running a baldwin bf1222 on my 91.

The 33617 should have the correct provisions for the sensor as well as a drain. Its the filter to go to!
