Mysterious Starter Behavior

Did you adjust the new switch correctly? Make sure that the positions of the key correspond with the right spots on the switch. Try adjusting it up or down a little and see if it changes.

It literally has to be either the ignition switch half engaging, or a short in the wire to the starter relay on the fender

I feel like I have it adjusted correctly. The accessories position comes on correctly and it clicks into the on position in the right spot, just sometimes this includes the starter engaging. This leads me to think a wire is shorting. I will have to poke around and see what I can find. Maybe I could hook the trigger wire to the horn [emoji6]

Wow. I wonder what happens if you stick all of those together and turn the key on? Haha.. at least you likely found the culprit.

It is one of the connectors under the brake booster. Not sure how the insulation on the wires disappeared but I am in the progress of heat shrinking them all. There is another connector under it that has three or four that are the same. Hope this fixes the starter issue. Seems like it may fix some other issues I don't know I have [emoji39]
