motor mount replacement?

Looking to reseal my oil cooler soon and was just wanting to ask if replacing the motor mounts is a **** or pretty easy? I dont seem to need new ones but if I'm going to be unbolting one to get the cooler out why not replace it while its half way removed and then just jump to the other side and do the other one? Honestly I haven't even looked to see what might need to be removed to do it. The idea just crossed my mind after reading up on the oil cooler reseal tech article. The mounts themselves dont break the bank to bad from what I have seen on rock auto.

I have approx 460k on my truck, it's on the second engine, and it sat under the flood we had here in 2011, mine are original to the truck and still perfectly fine

I've never replaced them on an IDI, but I plan to replace mine. I suspect drivers side is getting weak and clunking around a bit. Could be some something else, but rubber does not get stronger with age. I've broken more than my fair share of motor mounts so replace them if they're old and it's convenient to do so. Beats waiting for a complete failure.

Torque a running engine, you know zoom zoom etc, if it looks like it's gonna rollover change the mounts. Just a little, forget about it.

You shouldn't have to unbolt the engine mount to get the cooler off. Removing the ac/ power steering pumps/ brackets, steering shaft and front drive shaft should suffice.

If I remember correctly in the tech section it reads to just unbolt the drive side mount jack up the motor just enough to get it out. If that doesn't work then someone please chime in and correct me. If that procedure does in fact work then it sounds alot easier than unbolting the driver side belt driven items.

I personally thought the engine mount was a royal pita because it had 200k worth of grease grime and reason not to move. Either could be done, I just know it was very easy to unbolt those parts. I can't remember, but it seems like you almost have to remove the ps/ac pump cluster to be able to see or feel what you're doing under there.

IIRC, when I did mine a few years back I just removed the DS exhaust manifold and wiggled it out

When I did my oil cooler I didn't have to pull the front drive shaft or lift the engine, I pulled off the drivers front wheel, the power steering/vacuum pump bracket and unhook your steering shaft from the steering box and I had enough room for the oil cooler to come out.

I didnt pull anything on my f250 when I did mine. Took it out in 2 pieces. Put it back together one piece at a time. Took a couple hours. More time to clean it than anything.
