Looking into getting Volkswagen Touareg TDI

I was wondering what were some of the major problems some of the Touaregs have. I'm looking for 2012- 2016. I like the size of the car and the body style. Some have AWD (4motion) and I think that's pretty cool even though I probably won't put it to use much.

I heard somewhere that most VW have electrical problems. And then that whole smog scandal.

What are some things you've experienced or heard about these 2012-2016 VW TDI? Thanks in advance!!

All the ones iv delt with have been just service calls but I'm biased I like a good tdi

I personally don't care much about the smog scandal. *shrug*

I have driven Touaregs, but never owned one. I love'em. I have a buddy who tells me how much he likes his on a daily basis... it's very annoying. I'm also a fan of the TDI, just picked up a 2005 Jetta Wagon GLS TDI. I love it... it's fairly fast and gets great fuel economy even with my binary fuel actuator.

I ended up getting a 2014 Passat TDI SEL. It is salvage title but drives better than my 2016 Nissan versa! Will keep you guys updated with Maintenance work + cost and find out mgp and all of that!!
