Dad's truck is storing a code. I took a peek at
"Diesel Place" and there is waaaay too many forums
and sub forums to search through.
Is there somewhere that you D-Max boys know of
that I can find out what the number means? Thanks.

Ya. It's stored P0601.
Internal Control Module Memory Check Sum Error.

But unfortunately, I don't have a clue what all that means. LOL
So I'm just as lost now as before I scanned it. :(

Well, Ive found this info which doesnt read like it is good news to me. I would think with a failed PCM you would have alot of other bad stuff going on or, no stuff at all going on.

Truck still start and run and function normal? If so, try the old "unhook the batts and reconnect in 30 minutes" trick.

From what I can tell it's an emmisions related code that only takes one trip to set a light. The way I under stand it is that this is a code that sets when there is a problem with the ECM its self.

What year pickup? Has it ever had a downloader/programer used on it?

No. I don't think I wan to tell him that. :)
Ya it runs and ****. Took it to work today and it ran fine.
He just got it back from a shop that did some minor
repair to the roof. Sand and paint a scratch from an
underground parkade low clearance incident. :rotflmao
And the light goes on and off. Dad says it happens on
the bumps. I didn't notice.

Oops. Sorry man. It's an 05 D-Max/Alli
I'd have to say no to "a chip". The trucks an
ex rental. Truck/camper combo for tourists.
Dad drives it the same as them.
Too the floor, and no mercy. :rotflmao

That's what we're hoping for. Thinking maybe
the body shop had the batteries disconnected .

Maybe like Mike suggested. Unhook for 30 min
and allow it time to re-set itself.

also make sure they didn't disturb any connections. there is a junction on the passenger side where a bunch of wired plug in. same location as the fuse panel, but on the right side.
