The engine is spinning fast enough to fire and fuel pressure is perfect before anyone asks no the glow plugs do not work but I'm in SC it's 70 today any guesses also the rust found inside the valve cover is conserning along with on my lifters

Get your glow plugs working. They burn at 1200deg. A 70deg day is not going to replace that. And stop using ether. After your glow plugs work correctly do you have fuel at the injectors?

What is all that orange sh"t all over the intake?
Only thing that should be entering the engine there is air.. If not a little forced.

As said, these engines still need the glow plugs to initially start, even if its a short glow time.

Verify you have fuel to all injectors.

Rust on the inside of the valve cover just tells us the engine sat for a long time without running.

I'm assuming it's got a bad intake gasket and has gotten **** in it over years of sitting im putting new plugs in as we speak but still finding a ton im not liking about the valve train so since I'm in here I will replace rods springs and I was also concerned it dropped a injector so I'm ohm-ing them out now

I would have suggested doing a compression test before pulling push tubes and rockers, but thats me.

If the hood to cowl seal is shot, theres a good chance of rain finding the ait filter...
