Well I'm a little new to this so I started looking around the tech forum but was unable to find any lift articles so here goes....

I'm looking to level the truck in sig in order to bring the front in level with my rear. I'm thinking a 1 1/2-2 inch lift?

Once we get that figured out I'm curious if there is any lifts that you guys have fabbed up yourselves from shop materials? I know there are plenty of kits available but they aren't worth the money imo... Pics are great ;Sweet

If it's 2wd, how about just getting a new set of coils, or maybe figuring out what the stock spring height and spring rate is and trying to find something a little more suited to your leveling application.

Good luck, pretty cool truck, I like that you're building something off the typical IDI build path ;Sweet

Ok so the F450 chassis thing is pretty complicated, the donor truck was 4x4 automatic. The whole rear end of my truck is F450 but the front in is still F250 since the ball joints looked horrible in the donor truck and I figured it would be complicated doing a 4x4 front suspension in a 2wd truck...

So what I'm hearing is just get bigger springs instead of blocking it? So just buy the kit :dunno

If you do level the truck, keep in mind what the back will do once you put some weight on it.

Suggest considering leave it alone...

Yer saying you are running an F450 rear axle in a pickup correct the one with 10 bolt wheels along with springs or what

What year axle

Please take some time and explain in detail. We need all the info

What did you do with the front axle?

Oh so it's F-450 axles not chassis?

Not exactly, whole chassis is F450 except for the front in suspension... if that makes sense

I'm aware but with the F450 leafs this truck doesn't seem to squat at all, about to do a 4k mile trip in our rebuilt Avion, I'll be towing it with my truck and even though the camper trailer weighs around 8-10k lbs the truck hardly squats... now before I did the chassis swap is another story...

More info...

Everything that is F250:
Front suspension and steering
Engine
Tranny
body

Everything that is F450
...everything else (even the bed rails)

As for the front axle, I sold it to a friend since I wasnt quite ready to do a 4x4 conversion but kinda regretting that... I just put the F250 front in stead of the 4x4 front in, pretty much bolt once I modified some brackets... This was literally the week I got the truck (it had a bent frame) which was good long while ago... donor truck was a 96 psd

Correction: (sorry been a long day) axles are F250 along with the diff (however I have changed gear ratios twice since then) I reread riotwarrior's question about 10 lug and duh I have 8 lug so sorry about the confusion!

Heres a pic of what the donor truck would have looked like:

Bet it rides rough with the F-450 suspension.
Looking forward to checking it out when I get to SA. ;Sweet

Irrelevant Data
I am also looking to do this. For the newer trucks and 4wd stuff, there is a spring perch that bolts down under the coil. It comes with a longer bolt to compensate. Then you just have to install camber bushings to offset. But I couldn't find anyone that sold this for an IDI. Seems like it was all '99 and newer for the 2wd stuff.
