Legitimate turbo option???

I saw this guy on YouTube when I was looking at zf5 swaps and he first started showing is way of adding a turbo to the idi's. It's pretty interesting way of doing it where the turbo sits in the front of the engine. So my next question would be is this a legitimate way to add a turbo with how he runs his manifolds? He starts explaining how the turbo is set up around 3:40 on the video

Yes you certainly could do a turbo kit like he has. Rayjay turbo kits for idis did something similar
And so did gm with the 6.5s

However if you notice he mentioned many of the issues that buying a turbo kit for these often addresses
Plugging the 1" hole at the back of the intake, turbo oil drain, turbo oil feed line, plumbing to the intake, where to route the downpipe, how to mount it and where to filter incoming air.

It is often easier to spend the money and buy a kit, but yes making one similar to this will definitely work

Can't say you won't have issues along the way but every idi should have a turbo
