Need a freeze plug tool. It’s the drivers side plug behind the trans. Rather do this right instead of having to do it again. Willing to buy or rent.

Thanks!

I installed 6- 1.5" freeze plugs in a 302 motor a couple days ago with a 1 1/8" socket and a hammer. I didn't know there was a special tool. As far as removal, you wack it on one side with a hammer until you can grab it with plyers.

These plugs are different. People will tell you you can beat them in with a socket and technically you can if you know what you are doing. I do not and I really don’t enjoy pulling the driveline out to get to them to do it again.

For what good it may do you I'll post the plans for the freezeplug tool. If you're real good at this sort of thing you might be able to make one for yourself. It seems to me that one time some one here on the forum did make a small batch of them.

Well, shot (you see what self-control I have?). The plans are apparently too large to be allowed here. They're 1.72Mb. If you want the plans please PM me with your email address and I'll send them that way.
