I've always thought the early Banks non-wastegated turbo could use a Hypermax hat.

Russ do you have any more pics of it, maybe one not installed? This looks like it might work with my wastegated sidewinder, but im concerned about how im going to get my piping hooked up to the turbo.

thre's actually two different generations of Banks non-wastegated turbos. The early one has the divorced airbox and intake hat. the second generation has it intergrated. on a servicibility standpoint, the first gen is the better one.

Dont know if this was towards me or not, but I have a gated sidewinder and im concerned about clearance with the wastegate actuator. Im going to go take the banks intake hat off tomorrow and do some measuring. I am also having trouble decided to use 2.5 or 3 inch intercooler piping. I think the 2.5 would be easier to snake around obstacles but the 3 would match up with this elbow and the IC that im going to use.

es, and unfortunately I have the newer one with the integrated intake hat.

I found an old ATS last week and got the intake hat off it. They dont line up straight, its about a 60 degree angle because of the exhaust housing.

i am interested in one of theses.and have a few question about it , like what seals it to the intake on the motor, a gasket, rubber seal? i also see that it is a 2 piece design, is there anything that goes in between the 2 to seal them up?

stock intake gasket on the bottom and a factory quad ring from the elbow between the 2.

This looks like a nice setup. I have the integrated Banks air box/intake that I would love to get off the top of my motor. It is just too much of a pain to work on anything with it there. I currently don't have much interest in an intercooloer, will this intake hat work out well?
