I just got a 97 F350. It's a cab and chassis truck with an auto. It needs injectors and I am trying to figure out if I have AA or AB injectors. Any way to tell without pulling the valve cover, as I wasn't planning on doing that till I got new ones. Any help is appreciated. I did do a few searches but couldn't find anything.

Nice!

Well, you’ll probably have to pull the valve covers. It’s really not hard, the valve cover gaskets have the injector wiring embedded into them, and I would recommend replacing them with the injectors. But, they’re not fragile, you should be able to remove them without damaging them. Just to be on the safe side, you could order the gaskets now, and then when they show up, go ahead and pull the valve covers, and install the new gaskets if your old ones get damaged. If not, then save them until injectors arrive. Like said, the valve covers are not difficult or time consuming to pull.

I recommend Rosewood Diesel as a place to source injectors for these Powerstrokes.

What is your indication it needs injectors? Mine needed a hpop and ipr to alleviate its hard-starting problem.

You can meter out the gaskets you have. If they prove out, and don't leak, not much sense in spending the money. Conversely, a bad gasket could cause injectors or GP's to not work.
