Hey everybody, How can I fix a leak coming from this weep hole in my injection pump?! It seems to be just this one.

Internal seal leaking... can point to a worn out IP but in your case improper rebuild more likely, based on how clean the IP is and new tamper-evident paint.

Good question, I suppose I don't know. And realizing now that there are 8 holes like that, I may have been talking outta my bum earlier.

Do you have a spare to investigate that fitting? Maybe it's simple...but I haven't pulled that fitting before to know for sure what's behind that hole.

At 1:07 in this video you can see a cutaway of the DB2. Looks like a machined surface behind that fitting but there may be an oring, again I don't know for sure. Hopefully someone that knows better can chime in!

Either way, a leak there you'd think would be spotted when they flow test the pump...

I do, and I did lol. It seems like a simple A.N. but differentish kind of seal. I am not discounting what you were thinking at all. That is what I have been coming up with too The_Josh_Bear. Maybe I will move an old pump one to the new

Ah ok, so it is a machined surface. In that case I'd have no hesitation swapping one over from a used pump after cleaning out the hole good. Could just be a chunk of sand, etc.

Little more investigating on the old pump. These weep holes do just pass from the insert in the pump. I have a copper wire running though just to see it. Hopefully the pump side on my new one isn't damaged

After some trial and failure of a few of the fitting off the old pump ( and I am not too ashamed to admit some carefully applied blue lock tight) it is no longer leaking. Not sure if running a few fittings in fixed what ever blem was in there or what. I also have some old fuel line end fittings that I used to get it a little tighter on the last try.

I had a new rebuild from a reputable builder leak at those fittings. Three of them actually. Couldnt get it to stop. Took the fittings off my old pump cleaned them up and used them and it stopped. The only thing we could come up with is looking at the fittings on the new pump there is slight, and I mean slight pitting on them. Cant feel it, have to hold them at the right angle to see it type, and that was enough to not let it seal since it is seeing the high pressure right there.

That is what worked for me too. Using the old fittings fixed it for me. I would encourage anyone installing a newly rebuilt pump install it and run it before returning your core
