Now that I've said it, and you called me on it, I had to go find it. It took me not quite five minutes. Might have been quicker if I'd finished my morning coffee.

This item consists of stainless braided 3/8" hose, with XRP blue and red fittings, and the necessary adapter for your pump. Fits all DB-2 pumps on 6.9 or 7.3 engines. The actual injection pump inlet spec is SAE #5 O-Ring Boss. Which is a 5/16" fitting, having 1/2-20 threads. I just ordered some #5 ORB x 1/4 FNPT to get rid of the hard feed line and associated olives.

What will you be using for line between the filter head and IP? Thinking about doing this since I have to crack the system again for the FSV and electric pump install...even though I won my first battle with the olives today (motivation).

Clear fuel line. Not sure exactly what it's called, but the guy at my local parts store said its really good stuff and he uses it on everything. And it doesn't get hard/brittle with age. Actually just finished my 7.3 fuel system swap/olive delete on my truck. Clear feed and return lines. Regular rubber fuel line from lift pump to filter head. Pretty cool since you can track air intrusions directly to the source. We will see how it all holds up to hot diesel fuel and underhood temperatures.

The clear hose name you probably are looking for is Tygon tubing. It virtually last forever.

Here is the finished product I came up with. Ok semi finished product, injection pump isn't on just yet in the pictures. Now, the olives for the filter head to the injection pump... Oh my dear Lord. That SOB was so shot it was crystallized, I spent close to 45 minutes digging it out in pieces with the small pick you see in the pic that assisted me with the o-rings. Every rubber component on this engine was rotted, cracked concrete. The old caps popped off with very little effort just by twisting a screw driver between them and the injector. The o-rings were flat and brittle. The new caps I had to use a 1/2" socket and a small rubber mallet to get them to pop on, and that's with the o-rings well lubed. I can fully understand why this return line system is so critical. Basically I had nothing but air leaks on the entire fuel return system. I even replaced the short hose from the main manifold drain to the junction where it turns into what I assume is the fatory nylon/plastic line. I put a hose clamp in between the two ribs that can be seen in the one picture. Tomorrow I will change the last olive at the inlet of the filter housing.

At least the top of your engine is clean/dry! Must say I'm jealous. Mine was oil/fuel soaked with a layer of nature on it before I touched it LOL

Believe me, that's about the only thing it's got going for it!

I just realized I posted this in the wrong thread!!! [emoji15] Can someone move it to the Return Line Grief Suggestions thread?

Sometimes installing injector o rings can be a real pain. Too bad we don't have a tool make so the rings can slide down over it to the grooves.

Well he said it wasn't Tygon. And I believe Tygon has a yellow tint to it. He wasn't at the shop today to inquire more about it.

It seems to me that I used something to safeguard those o-rings. I'm thinking something along the line of a magicmarker body tube, or something like that. I think Calvin suggested whatever it was. The only thing I remember is that the process was pretty easy.

Well it sounds to me like I started an investigation to injector o ring easy installation methods. I do not recall anything but then again. I'm not the brightest crayon in the box either.

I have used a thin sheet of plastic and formed a cylinder around the injector and run the o-ring down the plastic to the groove. It works but not the best.
