found on another site but as it is on the INTERNET it must be gospel aye? read on: okay, here is the deal.
i have been in a discussion on another board about diesels in general, and this person is trying to convince me that dodge/cummins uses spark plugs, and the psd and D/A use GP's.

here are a couple quotes from this person.... let me know what is correct.

"I agree with that EXCEPT that Dodge diesels do NOT use glow plugs. They use spark plugs. On the 12 valve and the 24 valve cummins. Ford and Chevy do use glow plugs, however. Which means you will still be replacing spark plugs, wires, etc."

"I happen to know SEVERAL people that work at Zangara Dodge in the repair department. Cummins DO use spark plugs. They the ONLY diesel that does.

I do happen to know engines work, no need to explain. I took Auto Shop and have fixed many vehicles. I NEVER take my vehicles to a shop, waste of money IMO."

These are the type of people you dont bother arguing with, rather you should encourage him to go ahead and go to the dealer or AutoZone and inquire about getting new spark plugs for his diesel.

OK, IH did build a fuel all that I have heard the old truckers talk about. It was the only diesel that I ever heard of with spark plugs... But that was to run on Gas with....

I still like strokers' idea of having them ask for spark plugs for a diesel.

Old farm tractors use to have a dual fuel system where they started on gas until the cylinders got to temperature then you switched it to diesel.

Haha. Wanna have some fun? Go to Autozone and tell them you have a Dodge Ram 2500 with a 5.9L I6 and have them get you spark plugs. I did this once and the kid kept saying "hmm. we must not stock these."

The old John Deeres. I remember a friend of mine starting one up on a VERY cold winter day. What a loud running tractor, but so cool. Who says you need glow plugs or 50 miles of wiring and computer chips to be dependable?

I tired to buy an Adams grader a few years back, for the race track. It had some kind of dual fuel setup. It had an injection pump, plus a carb & distributor. I got outbid, and never got a chance to check it out closely.

Cummins don't use glow plugs nor spark plugs, they use drain plugs or freeze plugs, I can't remember which.

Reminds me of what a smart person once wrote:
