    NOT THAT KIND!
My '87 cab does. All along back wall at mounts, right above highbeam switch on mount, and pretty much all along the cowl tub. And, It's only where that rock hard seam sealer was put. Cab swap is possible, but trying to avoid that since now I have engine work ahead of me. What can I do about it? The back floor is a teeny bit wider now than it was a year ago but thats because I tried to cut it out with a 4.5" angle grinder and it didn't work...And the cowl does have rust holes in it. When it rains, if its not covered, My floor is a swimming pool.

Now, I think, If I cut out good sections from another cab and find a good welder the back floor and highbeam mount can be correctly fixed. I know, the cab still has to come off. Thats fine. The cowl is what I'm worried about.... And this cab is super straight and solid besides those places....Best cab I found locally has the rocker panels bent from sitting on rims....Only other trucks I found are around dallas where there is a TON of them....

I didn't think it was possible but your cab might be worse than mine was. At least mine was still solid across the back.

Speaking from experience... cut your losses. If it were any one of those areas, eh, no biggie. To fix the cowl I think you will have to cut the firewall apart. You would have to find a donor cab to cut from and the floor pans on the ext cab are different so you will have to find an ext cab as a donor at which point, why bother. It's a floor pan. If you have time and tools you can make something work. The cowl is a bigger problem. If you don't fix it, it will rot out the rest. I'd be surprised if your front cab mounts aren't pretty much toast too from what I am seeing. Honestly, after having gone through it, unless it was an absolute last resort, there is no way I would fix it. This is the one with the bad motor too right?

To me this has craigslist written all over it. I try to not be negative but on this one, I personally would walk away.

Yes, It has the bad engine. Other than those 3 spots, Shes very solid and straight. I do know where I can get ahold of 3 donor cabs that have good panels that I need. The cab as a whole is trash but has good parts.

Those bent rocker panels would be a whole lot easier fix than all that rust. Once rust has started in a panel the only way to get rid of it is to replace the entire panel. Keep looking for another cab, they are out there.. I just a found a stepside bed for my 1966 GMC K1000 in damn near perfect condition, it had absolutely no perforated rust anywhere and it's 50 years old. Found it in OKC for $250.

Been busy with work so I haven't really had time to do much with the truck or get online for it. Having problems with the truck at work. 09 F-450 and it loves to lope at idle when first cranked early in the morning. After 20 minutes of running its fine. I can get that cab for $230 if I pull it off myself.

From the pictures you show, I don't think that cab is hurt that bad if it's clean. The immediate concern I have is there looks to be rust in the rain gutter. If there is rust there, there is probably rust other places. The body lines are pretty close on the door. The door looks to be partially open in all the pics which leads me to think that the door is actually pretty close in adjustment. I don't think that the first pic is showing the door hitting the rain gutter. I don't see how it could with the body line that close. Unless that lower rocker is bowed really bad, a sledge and a block of wood would probably straighten it then a little work to straighten the lip. I don't know why you would prop it up under the rockers. Why not use the frame its sitting on? :dunno

Based on the dash and the fender badge I'd say that's an 87.

Why on the rockers? Have no idea. That's the boneyard for ya. The door will not close more than that. And its the only door so I don't know about the body still straight or not. I can get it for 230 for just the shell. Thinking about it.

Is it hitting the rocker or the drip rail?
