Well my second vacuum pump is going out. I pull a camper on a regular basis because I work on the road and am giving serious consideration to swapping to hydro boost this time. I was wondering if anyone has installed or know someone who has tried Battleborn Brakes Hydro kit. Supposed to be complete and new parts not remanded parts.
TIA

I am not sure about that brand, I have been looking at doing this too. I think you will also need a different power steering pump, the rear case cover at least with an extra return. I also have heard that they may not be a replacement in kind so to speak as to the brake pedal mount but none of that I have confirmed for sure, that is why I am still checking on things before spending money anyway. The much smarter members will have some answers I am sure.

I think I read on here the 91 down need the brake pedal modification to correct (for angle of the connecting rod I though) but the 92 up had the issue addressed by a part change - using the same pedal assembly between the F super duty and f series.

I’m pretty sure a guy by the name of A A Ron loder on Facebook just did a battle born break hydroboost swap along with a better power steering pump

I did a hydro boost swap from a superduty so it was plug and play for me
The factory ford pump really didn’t cut the mustard for me but thankfully I got a Saginaw bracket

that a a ron guy is a D!ck! lol
I did the battle born brake kit
Lee power steering pump with extra hydroboost return on the housing,

It is a plug and play/direct bolt in hydroboost upgrade from the factory booster
it is the same mounting distance for the master, so I my case it wouldn't run into the cold air intake shroud.

No pedal modifications are necessary on the kit unlike if you use the factory f super duty hydroboost.

The battleborn kit comes with a t fitting to tie your hydroboost return into the factory power steering pump return line. I just opted for the easier route if I was already buying a power steering pump, buy one with the extra fitting for the same price.

i went with the Lee pump because it is basically a Saginaw pump inside a factory Ford housing

Write up does not say anything about the mod to the brake lever.
I clicked on the one for the Bull Nose. (which I have)

Though he does mention a 2 hour install.
I have read that a new hole needs to be drilled though, maybe that is if one is pulled off a F-450 in the JY and installed on earlier year
250/350. IDK.

Removing the Steering Column etc... to remove the Peddle assy, is
way longer than 2 hours...LOL

Thanks for posting this info.

Edit:
The above post wasn`t there when I first clicked on it.
Was poking around in the guys site for a bit, then posted my bit.

Thanks for the feed back 03wr250f

Thanks for the info on the pump, I was planning on a different pump at the same time. I have also been dragging my feet on installing the Hypermax cowl induction until pulled the brake booster out of the way to make it easier.

When I went to hydroboost I bought the PS pump, booster, new master cylinder, and new hoses off of rock auto. I just bought parts for the f-superduty of my same year. The only issue is that you don’t get the pushrod between the booster and the MC, but you can buy that on Amazon as a “universal” kit that you have to cut to the right length. So far so good for me, although I would like to do the Saginaw swap eventually.

Oh and I did modify the pedal by moving the pin 3/4”

When I got my motorcraft hydroboost from rockauto, it came with the intermediate pushrod.

I don't believe they are being produced anymore, at least I couldn't find them. RockAuto has one reman listed as having the pin but it's almost $400 including core charge.
