Pick the side that makes you feel right. Its nobodys business where or who you deal with. I respect a person trying to make a living. But if a person or business continues cheating the very customers they have. Well I get on my soak box and try to give the truth so others wont be cheated. Now not one of the business guys mentioned in this thread are the people I am referring to as cheaters of the very customers that keep them in business. Please read the Hall of shame to find the horrible business and their locations so they can be avoided like an STD..

Only difference is Mel has never talked down on other sellers.
I can't say that about the others.

Here is the 6.9 IP's
DB2 4746
DB2 4541
DB2 4102

Any other DB2 **** is for a 7.3.

If the IP has been rebuilt and tag changed, your **** out of luck.

I believe its generally felt that a pump number 5013 is a 7.3 pump. Might even be the turbo pumps has this number but I'm far from an expert on the numbers.

This, and Mel has been a staunch supporter of the idi community from the get go. Can't say personally how much the other 2 support the community, but I know Mel has been involved in the forums, idi rallies, etc etc since just about the invention of the internet. My impression has always been that he genuinely loves the trucks and the people that have them, and is in business because of that, not to make money or popularize his particular thoughts/image.

For that reason I personally would much rather support him and his shop even if it's less money in my pocket. Personal opinion though...

As far as I know all 7.3L IP's are numbered as DB2 48** and DB2 50**

When talking about QUALITY.. It costs more because you get more when you purchase quality. I can easily name names of a company on ebay selling "tested injection pumps" that are run on a test machine. If they test close enough they are sold as rebuilt with a paint job rebuild on the case...:eek:cookoo Thats the kink of ebay quality you get from that seller. Mel on the other side of all this ebay crap flooding the market will stand up to anything sold from their shop. What is sells in on his personal rigs and you too can run what he does. He also encourages competition in the market place. He is a truthful man with integrity.

This thread shoildbt become a debate on what one person has done or another.

Both IP guys support the IDI and both provide great products.

Money talks

After sale support talks...

Take yer cores where you wish.

If I had to guess, which I do, Justin is mostly concerned with getting larger plungers. Any pump that starts with DB2831 should make him happy. I'll happily take your 6.9 cores. We have a larger variety of pumps to offer, and the 6.9 cores work fine for our lower cc pumps. The reason we can't pay $100 for a core, is that we simply can buy cores from companies that are in the industry that do that for a living for less than that. I'd rather get my cores from you guys, because by paying less, I can charge less, and I am helping you out to whatever extent you will accept. Yes, I know our pumps are not cheap, but honestly we put a lot of money into them, and charge what we do to remain profitable and in business to support you long after your purchase. We also provide the UPS label, so you ship for free.
