Not sure on your model, but on my 91 there is a massive rubber plug on the firewall behind the drivers kick panel. It's where the computer would sit if we had one. Drill a hole in it for your pass-through. Works great!

So I decided to mount the 3pod holder in the little cubby hole to the right of the steering wheel and from there I can punch a hole close to where the throttle cable runs through and that should do it for all three gauge's pluse it hides the back of the gauge pod from sight.

I would also like to know how others have plumbed in coolant temp senders for mechanical gauges on these big V8 diesels.

The dash gauge sender for my 300 was originally at the back of the block on the passenger side, so I had just enough length on the line to get it to that passageway in the block, but isn't the IDI's sender at the front of the block? May have to look into extension lines.

I think it would be really cool if there was an aftermarket hood cowl gauge pod that held a couple gauges.

Yeah I know exactly what you are talking about my power cable from my amp goes through it but I think if I tale that rout once its all tied up and out of the way it wont reach the sensor hole up front other wise id use it. From my measurements plus an added 6 in ill still have close to a foot of cable if I make a hole to the right of the throttle cable mount on the fire wall about an inch or so from the mount straight to the back of the cubby hole. I plan on installing them starting tomorrow afternoonish. The kit I bought has all the right fittings for the 7.3idi. I kept all my old sensors and the fittings match in thread count and diameter so I got lucky or that's the run of the mill size.

There are 3 common places to measure oil pressure. The first is the popular and often only discussed location on the top of the block where the factory sender goes. There are two others however. Both on the drivers side, in line with the crank. A real easy one to get at is on the transmission mounting flange, and is plugged with a square head 1/8" pipe plug. A second identical one is between the motor mount and the oil filter. I would leave the factory gauge hooked up. Two opinions are better than one when it comes to this sort of thing.
