Since this has come up. I will be suspending torque cam sales pending a 99% drop in grind. There have been few issues arise but I want to make it perfect before going any further. I will say that the 910 comp spring will be required on ALL future sales.

so since i don't think the T-cam has any higher lift,im trying to figure out why someone would end up with interference.do you get a cam card with the cam showing to offset the teeth by a degree to help with valve interference timing issues? if not,one has to think, those who ran into issues would have run into the same problem had they used an oem cam no?:dunno

The cam does have increased lift and the lobes are reshaped.
As the piston is nearing tdc on the exhaust stroke the intake valve begins to open, this is done to help scavenge the cylinder of exhaust and start packing the cylinder with the intake charge.
On the typ4 (Delta 206) the lobes are changed to start opening the intake a bit sooner, this is where my contact problem occurred.

Both Russ and Delta were very accommodating to me when I notified them of my problem even knowing it was my fault.
In the end the tolerances on my motor were just too tight for the cam.

a cam card does not come with this cam.
and i do believe it does have more lift.
its been a while since i measured it, and i cant remember.
but lets say for arguments sake, that the lift is identical.
the duration and the separation of the lobes are indeed different.
which puts the valve in places a stock cam would not during its rotation.

so you couldn't degree it even if you wanted too then.all ya can do is line her up,dot to dot and hope for the best lol.which should be fine.

i wouldn't go that far Russ,
but sell with a warning about clearances.(which should be 2nd nature)

the way this cam performs, when done right, is a great cam!

Am looking forwards to another new cam grind for the idi engines. I suspose if a mention of "your engine MUST fit these demensions" for this cam to function properly.. then that may help. but I'm sure some feel they have a "normal idi engine".. Even if the block was decked and the heads milled to minimum specs. And as for owners making the claim they had everything refreshed by a machine shop.. We have seen members with really screwed up valve grinds and not correctly recessed into the heads. so valve to piston made contact. Its very hard to know what any idi engine rebuilt specs are after all.. these engines are rebuilt several times. I know factually what thickness my new offshore heads are. I know how much my block was decked. I know what my pistons were milled. Sadly I just do not recall or can find what my valve springs are in these new heads. When I install a typ4 torquer cam you bet I will be installing a FULL set of Comp Cams 910 springs. But to do that correctly the heads should come off so I can do a clay test.. Maybe but probably not going that deep. Removing heads causes me to pull the engine. And once the engine is out you may as well open the bottom end and have a look see at EVERY bearing both top and bottom of every rod and crank. Only doing half of this bearing check is doing a half assed job.. any nobody likes doing or buying a half assed job.
If anyone has a typ4 cam they have for say 6 moths or a year or more please contact Russ about it. This will be of great help in this cam matter.
