Hole in crank?

Is this normal!? I'm guessing these big bore holes are for balancing, but what is this rough hacked hole? Lol

Normal balance holes. You should see the oil drain back ihc ground out in the 304,345,392

Ya see the small hole on the right side, that was drilled there to compensate for the hole on the left side. After the first hole is drilled, the crank is spun again, if it's still out of balance it will position and the second hole is drilled. Your just fine with the way it is.

This is normal. With the pic angle I'm thinking this is NOT another hole drilled but what I think I see is this large hole was drilled thru the counter balance lug. The crank weight is wider where the drilling first started. But you can see the actual crank web where it thins out. The "extra hole appears oval to me and not drilled. Perhaps you can take another pic from the other side??

Forgot to take a picture but you were exactly right. The drill went through the counter balance lug. No matter anyway, the block is cavitation breeched.
