Hi folks,

Live in Melbourne Australia and have a few oil burners in the shed.
Everyday car is a 97 Land Rover Discovery 300TDI (2.5 litre) We use it for towing our small camper trailer and a bit of off road fun. It runs on a blended mix of veg oil and heating oil.

Also have a 91 Land Rover Perentie (RFSV) these were built for the Australian Army. Full galvanised chassis, 3.9 litre Isuzu 4BD1. This variant was built for remote surveillance of the Australian coast and were modified with twin fuel tanks, 4 wheel disc brakes, on board air compressor, side baskets to carry extra fuel etc. It has only done 20,000k since new, but they have been hard kilometres! It is a ball to take off road.

Also have another Perentie that is getting a full rebuild and my missus has TDI Polo as her commuting car.
Look forward to doing some reading on the forum.
Cheers
Bruce

Cheers Clb,

Tell you what we are jealous of the diesels you get there. We never got the US diesel engines in great numbers here and the ones that are here are pricey to buy.
