Hey guys...

Strongly considering deleting all things vacuum on my '90 350. My main concern at the moment is the HVAC controls. I've heard its possible to convert to cable operation.. has anyone done it?

If so, what components were needed? How much of a PITA was it?

Thanks

I am deleting the vacuum pump on mine and going with a SD vacuum pump for the HVAC and cruise. Not sure why you are deleting but its an option. Seems like we had this conversation the other day. :dunno

My trucks hvac controls have some issues and I don't want to mess with it. Cable operation just seems less problematic. I could fix the vacuum controls, but it seems I'd be doing a full rebuild and I'm not sure that its worth the hassle.

Your HVAC is already cables. Only the fresh air door is vacuum and is near the passenger side hood hinge.

If I remember correctly, the 87's only...... the one with the A/C Button..... is all cables...... it was a 1 year thing...... not sure if the A/C Plenum is the same and all the doors are the same, between the vacuum and the cables.... if they are indeed different, you would have to remove the entire dash to change out the plenum.......
