Buyer's remorse.... That is a really really good turbo setup for the IDI, it may not be pretty but it's pretty neat. How did you fabricate a turbo pedestal for it? Most of the home cooked turbo setups are remotely mounted.

The pedestal sort of imitates the CDR valve. Found a pipe of the same diameter as the CDR tube, welded it to a flat bar to mount to the CDR bolting location. then 1" sq tubing offset towards the driver's side some with the turbo oil return flange welded to it. I do have a small leak between the oil retun pipe and the valley pan grommet. Will have to buy a new gromet and replace it at some point.. I did consider a remote location (between the transmission and the frame)at some point to avoid routing the snakes of the exhaust tubes behind the engine. Then you have to deal with the problem of returning the oil back to the oil pan...

Did you open up the baffle in the valley pan? That could be the source of your leak. On the older design valley pan you need to punch a few holes in the baffle with a pick or the oil will backup there and leak past the gromet and turbo seals.

That turbo set up will be an inspiration to many! ;Sweet If you had gone with a hypermax intake hat, that thing would look 100% professional.

+1 on the valley pan baffles that's gotta be one of the biggest and most frequent complaints here with any turbo mounted in the CDR locaction

You have been victomized by diesel careless. They sell craptacular junk and many have found this out the hard way. The best pump is the Moose pump, then the Moose jr.... Pensacola Diesel sells a good pump for $295.00 no core and no shipping or handleing charge. I have run one of those for a long time. A member here has had nothing but trouble with them too. Thats not the norm though. Midwest diesel is another great pump shop. Read all about the Hall of Shame above. Its there to help others avoid being crapped on by creepy sellers out there selling crap.

You forgot me Gary, I too have been around the block with pensacola junk.

I dumped a quart of oil in the CDR hole in less then 10 seconds and the oil seemed to flow in very well...so i figured it didn't need any holes....I might still have to take it apart again and make some holes/ silicone the tube..I would like to replace that gromet though as it was somewhat hardened. Is that an esay to find item? Ford dealership?
To Agnem's comment about the pressure cap, I have never seen the hypermax's aside on pictures, but i am not sure it would work. The rear of the cap is somewhat under the turbine housing. It could look more professional if i took my time with it and tig welded it. The 180 deg bend was made from two tubes that get replaced with a water pump on a powerstroke. There happened to be two pump replacements at work recently, tubes ended up in a scrap pile. I would not let such nice tight bends go to waste:sly
