How's the exhaust smoke? I'd think it would be a bit smoky if it was getting enough fuel for being turbo'd but wasn't getting any boost.

I can't tell it's still dumping under the floorboard, no pipe on yet, but good call.

800 degrees was only after a small time for running. I'm really haven't run it that long. I'm am like a one fingered man in a booger picking contest these days, so I won't be able to run it up a big hill for awhile. Oh, I forgot to mention that I have a facet electric fuel pump.

Thanks for the suggestion on the fuel.

Oh did not know that, thanks. I guess we're back to the fuel issue. I turned it up 2 flats. But wouldn't I see a little bit o boost if the fuel was down? I really hope I missing something simple here.

Thanks for all the suggestions all

I checked my boost gauge with a bike pump, and that works. Any thoughts.
What do you mean "that works"? The bike gauge registers pressure?

Floor it and you should see boost even with the IP at stock. I got up to 6 flooring it, but usually 2-3 driving semi-aggressive. Best boost was 3rd on t-19. Old IP and new injectors, fuel screw probably stock but no clue what PO did.
If you are getting 0 at the gauge AND hearing whistle it means you have intake leaks. Either a boot is lose or damaged, or one of the o-rings. I had the same problem with a bad o-ring, soap suds didn't show the leak but oil was coming out (CDR oily air) and leaking out which showed me right where it was. Doesn't take much either:mad:

You won't see boost in neutral ;Really

Thanks RHK,

I disconnected my boost gauge, the 1/8th capillary line, where it goes into the big rectangular banks box and adapted a shrader valve to it, hooked up a bike pump to it, and when I pumped the pump, the boost gauge read the appropriate pressure. As for the ip and injectors, both new as of a year ago, and the truck is timming to 9 degrees.

What o ring are you taking about?

Trying My Best,

You should take some pictures of your setup and post them in case you are over looking something theses experienced guys may catch. Measuring the exhaust pressure before the turbine could prove to be useful but then again this pressure will depend on the compressor as well because if you are not getting the mass flow in the engine you won't be gaining mass flow in the exhaust hence the pressure won't build and the test will be inconclusive. You really need someone to ride with you and see if you are blowing any black smoke at all as a quick test. It would also be beneficial to monitor your fuel pressure under load to make sure your fuel pump is keeping up with the flow demand. Like one of the guys posted before even if you are low on fuel you typically have enough fuel to build 1-2 psig with a clear exhaust, no smoke. Having no boost what so ever even on the stock fuel curve is possible but I would imagine not the usual case. If you want a real quick down and dirty not very technical test just turn the pump up some more and see if you roll some coal and watch your boost gauge and egt.

Right. Sounds like a plan. That shouldn't be too hard, just some gauges and some hoses. What I really wanted to do was hook up a mass Air flow sensor to in intake to map the requirements of my particular engine, to appropriately size my turbo to my truck, but time and money didn't allow for that. So I'll go ahed and pull the intake and look for leaks.

Thanks for advice bnio, are you some sort of engineer?

Gtw????
