My bed on my 93 f350 was cutoff 16” in the front to make room for a wheel lift that is no longer there. Now I have a bed with a mount for a ball roughly 17” in front of the axle. I don’t have a gooseneck trailer but if I needed to would that be any issue?

Swing clearance being reduced between the front of the trailer and the tailgate comes to mind.

The 16” brought the rear of the bed forward 16” also. It’s literally at the frame.

Got it...
Well the weight transfer will be forwarded on the chassis, not sure about wet weather braking and load push.
Jacknife clearance will suffer @ the cab probably.

No fist off if the gooseneck hitch you purchase later is a bolt in kit then it won’t work in any other place but over the wheels. The frame jumps up in that location to be closer to the bed. If you have a custom made set up that won’t matter.

Second steering and braking will suffer greatly. Ask your self… if you wreck even if it’s not your fault will your insurance, the state troopers investigator, the other persons insurance and the courts be ok with it? Even if a wreck isnt your fault at all some one could easily say you could have avoided the issue IF your goose neck was in the right place and they can assign a certain percentage of fault to you. It’s the same thing with guys towing over legal weight.
