95 f350 powerstroke
I didn't notice exactly when it happened but at some point i looked down and the tach was dead. then i noticed that the volt gauge and the light on the shifter indicating OD on/off was also dead.

is the OD light tired to the tach?
I looked over some fuses before it got dark out and everything i looked at was ok.
Maybe a loose plug on the cluster? bad ground?
just trying to pick up some ideas here for diagnosis.
truck seemed to run fine I could not cycle the OD on or off but i got home ok.

thanks in advance

side question. (bonus points)
My last truck, a 97 powerstroke, the cluster lit up when you turned on the headlights. on this truck you have to click the bed light on for the cluster to illuminate. what might cause this?

probably a ground issue, there are quite a few on these trucks.

Anyone out there have a manual with a diagram of all the ground locations?
going to pull the cluster first to check the connections

I have a 94 and it happens to me sometimes, a good smack on the dash has always fixed it back up. I suspect I need to clean up the main connector on the gage cluster.

My wife sure found it amusing when I lost the dash, swore, hit it and everything came back to life.

In my last truck the volt temp gauge would sit lower then it seemed like it should be sometimes and a quick swat to the dash would remedy the situation. alas i have thumped this thing a few times without affect.

well I finally went over a few things and discovered a bad fuse. reminder to always use your test light/ multimeter.

Problem I have now is that this fuse is popping shortly after replacing it. Havent figured out if there is a certain thing that is triggering it yet.
