Good evening folks! I have been torn between manual fuel tank valves with the dual tanks, or a 38 gallon rear single tank. I am definitely leaning towards the 38 gallon single tank for the simplicity of it, but am having trouble finding the complete kits. I have no problem putting it all together without a kit if someone can point me in the right direction for the parts. I just hate having to piece things together. There is only one kit I am aware of, but it is out of my price range. I would appreciate any and all help, thanks.

You can get a lifetime warranty valve at oreilly and autozone. Put filters before the ports though, the instructions tell you so too. It saves them form being ruined from these old rusty tanks

I installed a 38 gallon Spectra F26E tank in the rear of
my 86 F-250. The tank comes with a bag of parts.
4 Bolts, 4 pieces of pipe, copper tube and some wire.
The tank it about 7" deeper. The bolts are longer to
reach down to the 2 straps that go under the tank,
and the pipe goes over the bolts.

I bought a new fuel sender, and cut the float wire and
welded on a section to extend it around 5". Cut the
pick up tube, and used the copper tube and
compression fittings. Also replaced the Shower head.

This site is where I bought the sender and Shower
heads. They also have tanks, think I may have bought
mine off Amazon.

Replaced the front tank sender and FSV.

I run off the rear tank mostly, nice to have 40 gallons in
the rear. I fill her to the end of the fill pipe. The front tank
is for a back up, gives me 60 gallons

Wes is the only one who sells a kit as far as I know.
Yeah, I was originally going to get it from him, but it costs almost $200 for shipping, which of course is not his fault, and I waited too long and the price went up, so it looks like I will have to piece it together. I would like to install a sump kit in the new tank as well.

That doesn't sound too bad. I will be installing a sump kit so I don't have to deal with the showerhead, but my main concern was the sending unit. I am looking into a certain sending unit right now, but I don't know if it will work out or not, so it's good to know I can modify the old one. Thanks for the information and link.

This is the sump I will use when ever I get around to doing a 38 gal tank. I do not link the ideal of having the fuel hose hanging under the tank where could get snagged something.

I VERY much like this option, but not the price! If I decide to mess with it, I'll probably try and find a way to do the same thing without breaking the bank. However, for the cost I'll likely just keep running rubber hose off the sending unit because I'm cheap LOL

Mainly I don't really like the idea of cutting a hole in the bottom of the tank. Up here they rust out without help, don't really feel like giving it an early foothold.

I have to agree here. Except for the rust part. Rust isn't as big of an issue around here.
