Does anyone have one a need some pics and measurements so I can make one. I'm talking about the one you use when the front cover is off and in a press TB3T-6700-A, which is also part of the tool that does it on the truck I see. The important measurement is the inside depth that determines the seal installation depth. I don't think anyplace will have these for loaners. Thanks

U can use a rubber mallet to install it just make sure it goes on straight... It only needs to be flush with the housing

Make sure you put some RTV around the outside of the new seal before pressing it in.

Ive got the seal installer if you need measurements. Like mentioned though all it does is press the seal flush with the ring on the front cover. If you have the front cover off you could use a regular seal driver for it.

Most important when doing this job is checking the surface on the harmonic balancer where the seal runs. If there is a groove there, you need to go to the store and install a sleeve over it to renew the surface so the new seal won't leak.

5lb sledge and a 2x4 to spread the force.
done.
harmonic balancer seal sleeve is always a good idea. I haven't seen one that isn't grooved. then again, most of the motors I see are 200k mile motors too!

If you look at the front cover see those 3 nuts around the seal. Just make a piece of plate to cover the seal hole and drill three holes in it. Then some allthread and a few nuts and washers... Golden. I made mine by buying a piece of 1/2 inch thick aluminum round and drilling it. You will be surprised at now simple and easy the new seal glides into the cover. If the plate is still on the engine just use a hole saw to cut a large hole for the crank stub to go thru... Better ideas from years of bad ideas...:angel::D

Im going to press it in the plate off the engine. It seems to me there is a lot of toleance on how deep it is anyway. Mine is .040 above flush. It can be flush or even .040 past judging by the lenght of the damper nose

Okay I installed the front seal yesterday. I did it in a press off the engine. I didn't have the tool or a plate in my race/seal driver kit large enough. So I used the rear main seal tool that came with the ford seal kit. It worked perfectly. Pressed it flush with the outside of the cover. So now there is another use for that tool if you have one.
