To make a long story short, my mom had to bring one of our two cats down to a city just north of the San Francisco Bay Area for a medical procedure today. I drove up to meet her, and we ended up getting there about an hour early. He was sedated for the trip, and while it was starting to wear off, he was still feeling sluggish...all the same, he wanted to get into my truck cab. Once he got in there, he went exploring for a little while before deciding to settle down in the passenger's front seat. I pulled my camera out and took a few pictures...I don't think there are many cat lovers on here, but I thought some people might be interested in seeing a few of the pictures :)

I have always had cats. I have one now and one outside is fed whenever she drops by. Usually she drops in when I'm working on the truck so I feed her. Somebody in the neighborhood takes care of her besides me. The wife and I had a white female for 17 years that was polydactal. That means she had six toes on each foot. That was tuff loosing her many years ago but that happens. Why did you sedate that one? I just put ours in a cat cage and let the Vet get them out.... Sometimes thats really interesting.....

my best guess as to sedation is to calm her down for the trip my aunt has a dog that if she is in a vehicle unsedated she will freak and bark and eventually make herself sick if you don't let her out. found that out after i spent about 4 hours scrubbing dog throwup out of my brand new carhart jacket

My aunt had a polydactal tortoise-shell for nearly 10 years...got her as a kitten, and she suddenly passed away about a year ago...no one knows why. She was a sweetheart, although very finicky :D

We've gotten into the habit of sedating Jazzie whenever he goes on a long car trip...and, it took about 5 hours for my mom to drive down to the vet's office. If he's not sedated, he gets VERY panicky whenever he's in a car....he'd empty his bladder and ****** within the first 30 minutes, and he'd spend the rest of the trip clinging to my mom and drooling and panting...very clear that he was extremely stressed out. It's even worse when he's put in a cage. When we'd drive to L.A. for the holidays, we used to bring both cats with us...but the trip was so traumatizing for Jazzie that we had to stop. Mom found the harness and leash, and found that it's easier to move him around this way...he wants to rest on her shoulder, and the harness is tight enough that he can't wiggle out while still not being so tight as to hurt him

By the way, one of my dad's cats has gotten so good about staying in the cage when she's at the vet's, that they've started disassembling the cage around her to get her out. Fortunately it's easy to take apart! :D

Remington makes perfectly good easy to obtain feline sedatives, available in boxes of fifty at any Walmart or decent hardware store; I can attest to their effectiveness.:backoff

Cats are cool, I share a house with two - neither is mine, yet they both seem to spend more time around me than with their respective owners (my roommates). Also I had to transport a cat once on a two-hour trip - let him in the truck, he explored the cab, parked himself in the passenger seat, eventually curled up in the middle next to me, and stayed calm for the most of the trip, occasionally he'd get up and look through the door window (passenger side too, as if he know he should not distract me), but that was it - greatest cat to have in the car I've seen! Your mini-tiger is cool too :D

Those work great on humans too, too bad they are a bit messy to use, cleanup sucks big time (no pun intended, washing the fence really was a major paint)

Nice pics

I too am a cat lover, we have 3 living with us now. My 2 are 14YO siblings and still act/play like they did when I was in 10th grade of highschool, the other is my fiancee's cat. only 12 YO and acts like a grumpy old lady but does have a soft side.

that is cool i too like cats. i had one for about 10 years when i was a kid and he was like 20lbs of pure bird, gopher and lizard killer outside but the nicest thing in the world inside. now i have a black cat (maybe 5lbs, kinda small) 2 years old and a white cat same size about a year old. the balck one jumps over my 6ft wall with one hop and opens all the inside doors when she wants

We have two. Buster(black) and Simba(yellow) both were saved from the Humane Society. Buster is our camping cat. He goes most of the time. He's my buddy. Simba is the older of the two and used to play fetch, but is now old enough that all she wants to do is sleep. Most time as soon as my foot stool goes up on my recliner Buster snuggles down beside me.
