From my own not-very-detailed observations, it seems like a manual transmission with a cast iron case takes 80/90 while one with an aluminum case takes ATF. DO NOT take that as gospel by any means, but it seems to be what I've seen.
Think i should drain the new yesterday ATF mercon in my cast iron manual trans? ..lol i went with first 5 replies

I'll second Redline MTL for the ZF5, Shifts great cold and hot. I got it at Napa Auto parts on the shelf. I have a SMF and there is a bit of rollover noise at idle but not too bad.
I too have a SMF and hate the rollover sound so I turned up the idle until it went away. So my IDI idles at 750-800 rpms with no gear rollover noise at all, for anyone wanting a fix.

Great to know it can be had at NAPA!
