What flexplate are you wanting? Ford made several types for these motors. Do you have a heavy cast iron flywheel with a pressed on starter gear. If so this has the thin stamped flexplate that the torque converter bolts to... Or do you have the stamped flexplate with a welded on gear... BTS can sell you the stamped steel flexplate with the gear welded on it. They are located in Leadhill Arkansas. Around $50.00... The other thin stamped thin steel plate was around $200.00 From Ford years ago... I bought that item and it was the last plate Ford had... I did a nationwide search for it... I never did use it either... Funny how you need something and will pay whatever it takes to have it... Then don't use it... You have two choices here. If you use the flexplate with the gear welded to it you will need a crank spacer... Ford no longer makes that either but BTS does. This will be an upgrade. Or you can buy what I have. Pm me what you decided to do... Also the wrecking yard idea is something to look into also... So maybe you actually have three choices... When you are installing this wheel make sure you coat the crank bolts with a htread sealant. Otherwise crankcase oil will leak past the threads... These bolt holes go directly thru the crank flange into the oily side of the motor. Also the torque on these bolts is 47 lbs... Hope this helps you along the way....

Yes.. You can go both ways with the heavy or thin plates flywheels but... You need differant parts when you change... If you change from the heavy cast iron to the stamped flexplate you will need the crank spacer thats no longer made. BTS has these spacers.. They make them... If you are changing from the thin stamped wheel with the gear on it to the heavy cast iron wheel you only need the threes pieces. Thats the heavy wheel, the thin stamped wheel without the gear and the thin flex washer that all the bolts fit thru to spread out the clamping force... I have a spare heavy castiron wheel. The last ones Ford had cost around $480.00 and that was around 8 years ago... They have been out of production for a long time. PM me if you want to make a deal on what I have...
