I just switched to factory Alcoa’s from aftermarket ones, I’m Embarrassed I have to ask, but what style lug nuts do I use for the factory Alcoas with the caps

I’ve found they are 9/16 - 18 with 7/8 /21mm hex

But a lot of the open style nuts are 3/4 hex, seem too weak.

Anyone got recommendations on where to get em

Depends, are they srw or drw rims? Srw use acorn style nuts, drw use flat swivel nuts. They are not interchangeable.

The picture looks like srw with acorn style...

The nut is also specific to Diesel application and f350. They are bigger. You may have gasser/f250 nuts there..

You show both std and bulge style in your pic.

I reckon the nuts that fit the caps are the stock Ford ones. (9/16" unf, 7/8" hex). Rockauto is easy to check; 92-97 f250/350.

BTW, 21mm = 13/16"

I checked rock auto, and they actually list all kinds, standard, acorn and ball so wasn’t much help.

I was hoping someone on here has factory alcoas and could chime in with a picture of what they have.

Dorman 611052

This guy seems to be using the larger 1-1/16" nuts found on the 80's trucks.

As I recall, these caps don't attach to the lugs or studs - they clip into the 4 shallow reliefs in the center hole.

Thanks, ya I did a lot of searching, but the problem with that sometimes is too much results if different conflicting information across the boards.

I think I might go buy a single one of those Dorman ones and see how they fit.

I have bad lug with wheels and lug nuts so I want the correct ones lol

Get genuine Ford or GMC ones at a wrecking yard if you prefer. Basic 9/16" unf lug nuts with 7/8" hex are nothing special.
